Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is a government-funded program that provides health insurance to children in families with low incomes who do not qualify for Medicaid. Eligibility requirements vary by state, but generally, children up to age 19 whose families have incomes at or below 200% of the federal poverty level are eligible.
