The Google Pixel 6 Pro is entitled to a big price drop before the French Days

Since its release, the Pixel 6 Pro has never been entitled to a real price drop. This is now done just before the French Days, since SFR is increasing Google’s high-end smartphone from 899 euros to 779 euros.

The Google Pixel 6 Pro is currently the Mountain View company’s most premium smartphone at the time of writing. It was released at the end of last October and since then its price has never dropped, except once, but thanks to a promo code on Rakuten. Today, just before the French Days, he then benefits from his first immediate discount, which is a significant amount of 120 euros.

The key points of the Google Pixel 6 Pro

  • The adaptive 120Hz QHD+ OLED display
  • Excellent quality camera
  • The benefits of Google Tensor
  • Comfortable autonomy

Instead of 899 euros at launch, the Google Pixel 6 Pro (black color, with 128 GB of storage) is now available on sale at 779 euros on the SFR site. You don’t need to purchase a plan to buy the smartphone, just select « Phone only ».

A premium technical sheet

The Google Pixel 6 Pro is not marked XL, but its dimensions are definitely extra large with a screen diagonal of 6.7 inches. Fortunately, the slab with the curved edges on the sides is simply magnificent to look at, especially with the OLED which magnifies everything. We also appreciate the presence of LTPO technology to adapt the display frequency from 10 to 120 Hz depending on use, and therefore save energy on a daily basis. The 5,003 mAh battery then easily holds the smartphone for 2 days, with 4 to 5 hours of screen time per day. It’s very comfortable, and above all very practical not having to recharge your laptop every night. The only problem is the 30 W fast charge which is not at all fast, since it still takes a full hour to go from 0 to 50%.

With its new Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, this is the first time that the Mountain View firm has decided not to integrate a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip into one of its smartphones. This year, the Californian company has indeed preferred to manage software and hardware at the same time by developing its own in-house chip: the Google Tensor. This processor emphasizes artificial intelligence to offer new features with Google services. We can cite instant translation in offline mode, for example, or the new possibilities allowed on the camera application. Raw performance, on the other hand, is down on the benchmarks compared to an iPhone 13 Pro equipped with the A15 chip or a Xiaomi Mi 11 equipped with the Snapdragon 888, but that’s not why the Pixel 6 Pro (with its 12 GB of RAM) has performance issues. The proof: it runs Fortnite in Epic graphics quality with 3D resolution at 100% without slowdowns.

He doesn’t miss a shot

The Pixel 6 Pro marks a profound change in design compared to older models, and this is directly noticeable when you see this large band that crosses the smartphone from left to right, on the upper part. This is where the camera is housed, which houses three sensors: a 50-megapixel wide-angle, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle (114°) and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens, which allows you to display a Very good quality x4 optical zoom.

Either way, it all blends perfectly with Google’s many algorithms — and laser autofocus, spectral flicker sensors, not to mention optical image stabilization — to deliver excellent quality in all circumstances, and above all many possibilities like erasing people in the background or blurring moving faces. In addition, the selfie camera is 11.1 megapixels to offer 4K filming at 30 frames per second – which is quite rare for a front sensor. In short, you will really have fun taking pictures with this smartphone.
