Back in the shoes of the totally barred character of Morgane Alvaro in « HPI », this Thursday, May 12, 2022 on TF1, Audrey Fleurot is well aware of the difficulties of women in society. She herself was often the victim of street harassment, to the point of being « traumatized ». She confides frankly, but with a dark anger.
100% of women have already been victims of street harassment. Whether it be insults, inappropriate remarks, attempts at seduction that do not stop despite the interlocutor’s refusal, or even downright sexual assault, street harassment is a daily scourge to which thousands of people are faced day after day. More and more people are speaking out on this subject, denouncing a systemic problem based on sexism and a desire for humiliation, but above all a problem that is still not taken seriously by many members of the male sex.

Audrey Fleurot, traumatized by street harassment
Known and recognized star, Audrey Fleurot easily stands out thanks to her red hair. But since her childhood, these are not necessarily an asset, especially when the actress tries to be discreet. « We saw me too much », confided the actress in the columns of Paris Match. And whether it’s for castings or on the street, for that matter. Also, from her youth, Audrey Fleurot set up little habits to try to escape street harassment. « When I was younger, when I came home at night, I changed my heels for sneakers, I tied my hair, I put on a hood. »
She is aware of it: « When you are a girl, you are attacked all the time. And you have to find parades. » One of hers was to get a vehicle so that I no longer had to take public transport: « I started riding a scooter when I was 20 because I couldn’t stand being hassled in the metro anymore. . At one point, you asked me the time in the street, I took out my tear gas canister so I was traumatized. It must be said that she had her share of bad encounters: « My first contact with a male sex is the exhibitionists of the Buttes Chaumont », she confided on the set of « C à vous » in 2018. « I took line 7bis. I saw a number of exhibitionists… They disappeared because the internet arrived, but I grew up before the internet. There were exhibitionists in the metro, and we took each other from the hands to the buttocks. »
She thanks the #MeToo movement
Where some stars saw in the #MeToo movement a witch hunt, Audrey Fleurot saw it as a necessary release of speech for the victims, as for those around them who were unaware of the seriousness of the facts. “The #MeToo movement fascinated me because a lot of men realized what all women know, but had never said,” she proclaimed in Paris Match. For the companion of the director Djibril Glissant, an awareness is necessary. « Today, the comments on the physical irritate me, » she says. « If they’re positive, you’re supposed to be flattered. But if you tell a guy ‘damn, you have a nice ass’, he’ll be shocked. It’s our daily life. »
Her words are not new, since in 2018, she had signed the platform « Now we act », in the columns of Liberation, in order to support associations helping victims of sexual violence. The actress, who has just celebrated her 44th birthday, is now comfortable in her skin, as she recently confided to Marie Claire: « I feel so much better in my sneakers than at 20. Besides , I wear less heels. The relationship to femininity is more serene at 40. We are less in the pageantry. I find it great that today the girls seem quite free from all that. »
