And for this great moment, the journalist appeared smiling and delighted to find the viewers. But a detail of her look also appealed to the public. Indeed, Marie-Sophie Lacarrau presented the newspaper without glasses, while she had maintained the suspense during an interview with Parisian on May 12. Suffering from myopia, she assured that she no longer wanted to wear lenses but did not know if she would keep her glasses. The question was therefore settled, and to help herself, the presenter therefore had index cards and an iPad on his desk.
« Today is Monday, May 16. I couldn’t imagine loving this date so much one day. I’m really, really happy to meet you. And right away, we resume our good habits, as if we had never left each other », she launched at the opening of the JT. For this special program, the journalist had wanted to give the floor to the viewers. « In recent months, many of you have heard from me and I thank you for that. Today, it is therefore I who want to know how you are doing. What’s your morale? »she said before launching reports in which the TF1 teams went to meet the French.
Marie Sophie Lacarrau: « Finally, I look ahead and no longer behind »
Marie-Sophie Lacarrau had agreed to confide in her state of health in the columns of the Parisian this Thursday, May 12. She had thus expressed her eagerness to return to the antenna. « I just want to find the viewers, to find the link that I had started to create with them. And who was stopped dead »she had indicated on a daily basis, before being reassuring about her state of health: “I’m doing so much better! Finally, I look ahead and no longer behind. Knowing that I’m back on the air is enough to make me happy. During my 4 and a half months of absence, I waited to resume a normal life and my work.«
In December 2021, Marie-Sophie Lacarrau had to leave the antenna after having experienced difficulties with her contact lenses. After a first misdiagnosis, a doctor then detected him « amoebic keratitis« . »It is an infection of the cornea by amoebas, parasites present in tap water« , she had detailed, before explaining what was the origin: « The fatal combination was: lens and tap water […], this eye disease is classified as rare and severe. There would be less than a hundred cases per year in France, we can say that I was not very lucky!. Everything now seems behind her and the presenter is now enjoying her return, to the delight of viewers.
