Johnny Depp VS Amber Heard: a twist in full deliberation! The jury disturbed by a detail

The jury was troubled by a detail during the deliberations of the trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard this Tuesday, May 31.

Since April 11, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have been facing justice in a highly publicized trial. This Tuesday, May 31, during the deliberations which took place in the court of Fairfax in Virginia, the jury was disturbed by a detail. Following the lunch break, a question was forwarded on a yellow paper to Judge Azcarate about a forum dating from 2018. This one was published in the columns of the Washington Post and it evoked the violence against women. As reported by Angenette Levy, the presenter of the Law&Crime Network, which has been broadcasting the trial live since the beginning, the jury was interested in the title which is « I spoke out against sexual violence — and faced the wrath of our culture. This must change« . According to his words, they wanted to know if « it is the whole of the tribune which had to be taken into account and considered as defamatory or only the title« . What Judge Azcarate explained that the instruction took « only the title of the forum takes into account“, can we read.

For several weeks, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have been at the center of attention. As a reminder, the actress accuses her ex-husband of domestic violence and claims 100 million damages for the moral damage suffered. For his part, the star of Pirates of the Caribbean accuses his ex-wife for wanting to smear her reputation and lying all the way. He claims 50 million from her for the loss of earnings lost since 2016, when Amber Heard filed for divorce, claiming to be a battered woman. This trial is therefore very important and every detail must be analyzed without missing anything. Thus, as Angenette Levy pointed out, we must keep in mind the fact that this is a « six-week trial. So the jury has a lot to consider« . Afterwards, she adds that « for the most part, jurors take their work very seriously. They want to analyze everything and be as fair as possible« . According to his remarks, the deliberations could even « last all week – we can’t know“, she concluded.
