Even before kick-off Koh-Lanta, The Cursed Totem on TF1, Anne-Sophie aroused the curiosity of viewers. Indeed, she was presented as a footballer’s wife in her portrait. For ten years, she shares the life of Anthony Mounier and together the couple has two children, Malo and Tom. On the camp, the pretty blonde preferred to keep quiet about her husband’s profession, to avoid being the victim of prejudice. She thus swung a lie to her comrades before finally revealing the truth! The adventurer, eliminated during the last episode, explains herself to Purepeople.com.
How did you meet your husband?
I was a student in Montpellier. There was a party in June, at the end of the year. We went out a bit with my class. And he was on vacation at the time, we met at the same party. Vacation love at first, then a long-distance relationship since he was in Lyon. It was difficult, but we decided to continue to see each other a little bit on the weekends, and then we became attached to each other. We spent two years like that, the time I finished my studies while he devoted himself to his football. Then he signed in Nice, I joined him while continuing my studies. Then there was a marriage proposal and children! I devoted myself to his life before emancipating myself a little a few years later.
Why did you choose not to reveal the identity of your husband to your comrades?
There are many prejudices against this status. So it wasn’t something I wanted to shout from the rooftops. We say to ourselves that maybe I don’t have my place in the game, I don’t know… And then, I wanted to do this adventure as Anne-Sophie and not « wife of ». At the beginning, I said that he was a physical trainer in sport and gradually, tongues are loosened. I can’t lie anymore in life. And then I meet Amber who arrives at the purples. She talks about her husband who is a professional volleyball player and I realize that in fact we have the same life. And I tell him that mine is sporty too. It’s good to see that she too is alone on the weekends, that she also supports him.
Your dad is also a top athlete. Sport is a bit of a family story for you…
Completely. My mum is also athletic, she took part in the French athletics championships. My dad was a professional wrestler. Afterwards, he was in the army, he was a legionnaire. So sport, he did it every day. I had this sports education, and then I went to a military high school. I had competitions every weekend. I was raised with a lot of discipline, rigor. In the family, the main thing was not to participate but to win. I’ve always had this spirit of competition, of always surpassing myself, of discovering new sports. And then, my husband is also athletic, my children too. We balance challenges as a family. And the same, that the best wins, even if they are 5 and 10 years old, who cares (laughs). Everyone gives their all.
You are the mother of Malo (10 years old) and Tom (5 years old), do you plan to enlarge the family?
Absolutely not. They are already full of energy, I am at 2000 every day between my work, Antho’s work, the children’s sports activities, school… I think if I add a baby, I don’t know where I would find the time. I want to enjoy four, to go on vacation. The children have grown up, they are independent. It’s not a hot topic at all.
