In summer, dark floors and paved roads store a lot of heat, and sometimes it becomes almost unbearable for cats to put their pads on them. To keep your floors cool, you can, for example, put light or slightly moistened blankets on them. To give your cat a cool head, provide her with a refreshing rug or offer to settle under a parasol in the shade.
Do you have an indoor cat and not an outdoor cat? Open the windows at night or early in the morning to bring fresh air into your home. During the day, it is advisable to lower the shutters and/or close the curtains to limit the room temperature and prevent your cat from getting too hot.
A small, refreshing pool
Cats and water often do not fit together! But in summer, cats can quickly show much more interest in the water during heat waves. Offer your cat several ways to freshen up:
Outdoor cats will enjoy a small fresh water basin or an irrigation system in the garden. If your cat lives exclusively in an apartment, offer her a cool bath or a damp towel.
You can also cool your cat effectively with ice cubes. To make them more interesting for your cat, place a treat in the center of the ice cube.
