After a long absence, Elizabeth II increased public appearances. This Tuesday, May 17, the monarch traveled to London for a surprise visit. She was indeed present at Paddington station to inaugurate a new metro line bearing his name, there « Elizabeth Line ».
Radiant, she appeared dressed in yellow from head to toe to attend the event marking the completion of the metro line. « Her Majesty was aware of the engagement and the organizers were advised of the possibility of her attendance »a Buckingham spokesperson said.
From May 24, the Elizabeth line will link the eastern and western outskirts of the British capital. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said to himself « incredibly touchedof his presence.

This surprise visit greatly reassured the British about her state of health because for several months the appearances of the sovereign have been becoming increasingly rare. She even has had to give up very important appointmentssuch as the throne speech, on May 10, for medical reasons. Elizabeth II indeed has difficulty getting around, and does not wish to be seen in a wheelchair. This Tuesday, she was therefore simply equipped with a caneand accompanied by her youngest son, Prince Edward.
This Sunday, May 15, the queen also appeared at the Gallop Through History in Windsor. Particularly smiling, she had made the trip to attend this first major event of her platinum jubilee. The show notably brought together 500 horses and 1,300 artists including international stars such as Tom Cruise and Helen Mirren.
