During the speech of her husband, the Duchess of Cambridge did not could not contain his emotion and let out a few tears.
A heartbreaking tribute. This Tuesday, May 10, the Prince William and Kate Middleton were present for theunveiling of a memorial in Manchester. The Glade of Light pays tribute to the victims of the terrorist attack that occurred during Ariana Grande’s concert on May 22, 2017, which claimed the lives of 22 people.
For the occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge had chosen to wear an elegant blue and white dress and matching pumps. Her husband was dressed in a navy blue suit. The couple notably gathered for a few moments before laying a wreath of flowers. Prince William also took the opportunity to give a poignant speech to salute the memory of the missing.
Prince William: ‘I know the pain and trauma has not gone away’
« They were loved and they are loved. This is why memorials such as the Glade of Light are so important This is why Catherine and I wanted so much to be with you today »said the dad of George (8 years old), Charlotte (7 years old) and Louis (4 years old), before indicating that it was still very difficult to mourn: « Five years later, I know the pain and trauma felt by many has not gone away. ».
Prince William also wanted to share his own pain, and spoke about his own experience of bereavement. « As a person living with their own grief, I also know that the most important thing for the bereaved is to do everything so that those who have left us are not forgotten », he continued. An extremely moving speech during which Kate Middleton was overwhelmed with emotion, letting a few tears flow in the process.
