Hélène Devynk, one of the many complainants in the PPDA affair, confided in the surprising exchange she would have had with Gilles Bouleau, about her predecessor.
On Monday May 9, Médiapart published a long plateau program on YouTube, dedicated to the complainants in the PPDA affair. The 18 women accusing Patrick Poivre d’Arvor of sexual violence were present, including two who hid their faces.
Hélène Devynck about Gilles Bouleau: « He told me ‘I don’t fall out of the wardrobe' »
Among all these women was Helen Devynckwho worked at TF1 in the early 1990s, when the events allegedly took place. The journalist spoke about the reigning omerta within the large group, claiming to have spoken about it later, to a good number of her colleagues: « People at TF1 today, I saw them, I saw Gilles Pélisson (current CEO of the channel), I saw Thierry Thuillier (group news director), I spoke to Gilles Bouleau, he was the first to whom I spoke to TF1 before testifying publicly« she remembered.
If she said that the current presenter of news of TF1 immediately believed her, Hélène Devynck remembered the surprising response that Gilles Bouleau gave her : « He told me ‘I’m not falling out of the wardrobe’. And there it’s complicated, because when you are told ‘I don’t fall out of the cupboard’, that means what did you know without knowingwhat did we see without seeing »she said on the set of Mediapart.
Gilles Bouleau: « I didn’t know, I have no reason to lie »
The journalist then returned to all these members of the channel who once called Patrick Poivre d’Arvor a « seducer »: « Everything TF1 says today ‘we knew he was flirty, that he was heavy, that he was compulsivebut we did not see the rapes‘. They are right, they simply have to wonder about ‘what does a flirt mean?’« she finished.
Guest on the set ofWe are live on April 28, Gilles Bouleau spoke about the case, claiming however that he was not aware of the actions of Patrick Poivre d’Arvor : « I think there are plenty of people who were in the editorial staff, like me, who didn’t know. I didn’t know, I have no reason to lie or hide. I have no animosity or protection to bring to PPDA, I did not know »he said.
