During a recent realization, Renaud decided to finally start taking care of himself. « For a year and a half, I no longer drink a drop of alcohol. I am particularly satisfied with it. On the other hand, I still smoke like a firefighter. I still went from four packs of cigarettes a day to one pack », had confided the singer on the airwaves of RTL. Passed in a specialized center to try to treat his addiction to drink, the one who likes to be nicknamed Mister Renard was very afraid for his health.

Renaud: « There must be a god for drunks! »

It must be said that a year and a half ago, during the month of October 2020, Renaud underwent a major heart operation. A very difficult test, which the famous singer confided in the JDD for the very first time: “I had heart surgery last year. I had a stent put in because of a clogged artery. Since then, I’ve been doing very well. ».

But he’s obviously not out of business yet. And this, he is truly aware of: « Not a drop for a year. I still have little temptations, but I’m holding on. I’ve paid my tribute. When I think of how many times I drove home with 2.5 grams of alcohol in my blood… There must be a god for drunks!« . Now in better health, Renaud will go on stage this Tuesday evening on France 2, during a special evening for his 70th birthday.
