SCHOOL VACATION. National Education has already published the school calendar for the year 2022-2023. When does the summer vacation start? What is the start date? When do public holidays fall and which bridge should be laid?
[Mis à jour le 18 mai 2022 à 12h17] The Ministry of National Education has posted the school calendar for the year 2022-2023 online. Some 12.5 million pupils will return to school on Thursday September 1, 2022 and will go on summer vacation on Saturday July 8, 2023. Good news on the side of public holidays in 2023, four will fall on a Monday (including two on between them which fell on a Sunday this year 2022 and which we still haven’t digested!): Easter Monday, May 1st, May 8th (yes, it’s those two) and Easter Monday. Pentecost. Finally, only one will fall on a Friday: July 14. It will be time to go on a long weekend!
On the other hand, there will only be one and only possible bridge in the 2022-2023 school holiday calendar, thanks to Ascension Thursday on May 18. You will be able to ask on Friday May 19 knowing that the students will not have class on Friday May 19 and Saturday May 20, according to the official calendar of the Ministry of National Education. In the meantime, the pupils and their parents are already looking forward to the next summer holidays, the departure date being set for Thursday July 7, 2022 in the evening in metropolitan France.
The 2022 summer holidays will take place between Thursday July 7 and Wednesday August 31 inclusive, on the same dates for zones A, B and C. The start of the school year will take place on Thursday September 1, 2022, all zones combined.*
Students will return to school as they do every year in September. This year 2022, the start of the school year takes place on Thursday, September 1, 2022. A pre-start is set for Wednesday, August 31 for teachers.
